High temperature, mugginess and humidity were the features of this weekend, the fourth meeting of the national scooters of Polini Italian Cup on the track of Ottobiano (PV), where the races on Sunday were disputed on the burning asphalt that bordered on 52° degrees.

BLANDO THUNDERS


In Race 1, Corsi sprints quickly before Starnone, Vitali and Blando. The three chasers try and gain ground over the official of Polini Scooter Team and offer a show through the continuous overtakings. Behind the front group, the defy for fifth position is between Zani and Bartolini. At mid-race, Blando gains ground over Starnone and Vitali while trying to catch up with Corsi. The last lap is inflamed: Blando is behind Corsi, who rather easily gets his own way and wins the first round. Third position for Starnone and fourth position for Vitali.

In Race 2 Starnone is the quickest. Behind, Zani and Blando battle for the second position. Corsi is bound to perform a come back, after an uncertain start, Starnone slides and goes to fourth position. Two laps to go, Corsi is second, but on the last lap he falls down and gives his position to Zani who is second, behind the triumphant Blando. Starnone is third.

CASTELLINI, STRENGTH AND COURAGE


In Race 1, Tiraferri sprints before all riders, followed by the author of the pole Castellini. The two official of Polini Scooter Team gave birth to a resounding duel. Behind them, Penzo, Parodi and the Dutch Sarik Roufs fight for the third position. But on the second lap the Dutch exceeds and slides. Two laps to go, Castellini assaults Tiraferri, who immediately replies and obliges Castellini to widen the trajectory. Soon after Tiraferri makes a mistake and leaves the victory to Castellini. Second is Penzo, Parodi third.

In Race 2, the couple Castellini Tiraferri immediately battles for the first position, while Tiraferri desires to take revenge after the error in Race 1. The pace of these two is unsustainable while behind them Birtele and Penzo make a great show. On the ninth lap, Castellini suffers Tiraferri’s assault and wisely settles for the score for the absolute victory of the day. Third position for Birtele.

BESSARD GOES BACK FOR SECONDS


In Race 1 the Swiss Bessard starts quickly, chased by Picciallo, Cionna and Beghelli. On the second lap, Russo goes out. Bessard flies before Cionna who gets some metres over Picciallo and Beghelli. On the last lap, Beghelli surprises Picciallo and ends p third, behind Bessard and Cionna. Lazzoni is fifth, the Slovenian Martin Mihael.

Anche Gara-2 è caratterizzata dalla fuga solitaria di Bessard che precede Russo e Cionna. Dalle retrovie rinviene Beghelli, che riesce a guadagnare la terza posizione. Lo svizzero allunga andando a vincere indisturbato. Seconda posizione per Russo e terza per Beghelli.

SCOOTER 70 FANS:
LORENZINI, THE OUTSIDER


In Race 1, double start because of red flag, due to the incredible slide of Boceda right after start. On the second start, Mantovani gets to lead the race, followed by Lorenzini, Tessaglia and Falardi. Lap after lap, Lorenzini speeds up the pace, while behind, his chasers aren’t saving their energy in amazing duels. Lorenzini distances till the victory, Mantovani is second before Raccagni, Tessaglia and Falardi.

In Race 2 the trio composed of Mantovani, Tessaglia and Lorenzini goes to lead the race, and like Race 1, Lorenzini assails and takes the leadership. Tessaglia is out for a slide. Few laps to go, the podium is still undetermined: Lorenzini and Falardi are the two candidates to victory, while Frigè with Raccagni and Mantovani look for the third place of podium. In the end, Falardi gets his own way before Lorenzini and Frigè.

VESPA 185 4T:
THE FIRST OF RINGO


In Race 1, Tortosa leads the race but Righetti is a tough adversary. The two ride before Caddeo, who tries to keep their pace. Tortosa and Righetti are the protagonists of a sequence of overtakings, which makes Vespa 185 4T incandescent. At the end, Tortosa wins through, before Righetti and Caddeo.

In Race 2, the same trio opens the ball: Righetti, Tortosa and Caddeo. They face the bends at high speed, Righetti and Tortosa are more and more in the fight. but Tortosa is the victim of a slide, caused by a contact, so he opens the way for Righetti’s success. Caddeo is second, Leporati is third.

VESPA 135 2T:
LARCHER KING OF OTTOBIANO


In Race 1, Benini starts quickly, chased by Larcher and Villa. On the fourth lap, Benini slows down and leaves the leadership to Aaron Larcher who wins before Villa and the regular Mammi.

In Race 2 the challenge between Benini and Villa, Larcher is third. They run to the limit, Benini wants to take revenge after the bad luck in Race 1. After some laps, Larcher slides and loses the chance to fight for the absolute victory.
