DOUBLE VICTORY FOR THE POLINI VESPA OF THE POLINI TEAM CASTROL AT THE VTR 24H OF ZUERA
Another success has been added to the long list of victories achieved by Polini Motori-equipped Vespa scooters in endurance racing competitions.
At the Circuito Internacional de Zuera, in northeastern Spain, Polini Castrol Team claimed an incredible double victory at the VTR 24H, further strengthening an increasingly solid international partnership built on passion, technical development and perfect synergy between the Spanish team and the Italian company.
Ivo Viscasillas, Miki Vinola, Cristian Marin and Curro Giner once again took to the track with two Vespa that dominated their respective Largeframe categories, securing two outstanding victories: Proto Largeframe and Derivata Largeframe.
It was total domination, achieved after a well- managed race run at an extremely high pace and without a single mistake or mechanical problems. In addition, the Polini Proto Vespa secured 4th place overall, an exceptional result for a Proto Vespa, while also setting the event’s lap record, completing nearly 1.000 laps (almost 1.700 km on the 1.7 km circuit).
An impressive result, especially considering that the fastest lap of the race was recorded just fifteen minutes before the chequered flag, proving the vehicle was still performing perfectly after a full day of racing.
Endurance races represent one of the hardest testing grounds for any engine: 24 hours at full throttle, high temperatures and continuous mechanical stress. And this is exactly where Polini demonstrated its outstanding quality. The engine developed by Polini together with the Spanish team impressed everyone with its power and durability.
The race also served as an extremely important technical test for the new Polini components recently introduced into the catalogue. The Vespa Proto used the new Polini engine crankcase which, despite being subjected to extremely high stress levels, didn’t show any technical issues throughout the entire competition.
The victory at the VTR 24H once again confirms the technological excellence of Polini products and the value of a winning international partnership capable of turning technical development, passion and teamwork into concrete results on the track.
