Team Polini ON THE podiUM aT 500 Km di Pomposa 2026
Seven hours of racing, rider changes, refuelling and adrenaline: once again this year, Team Polini made its mark at the 500 Km di Pomposa, securing second place in the Supersport category and third place overall.
A prestigious result that confirms Polini Motori among the leading teams in the discipline and adds another chapter to a history marked by major successes. Team Polini had in fact dominated the competition with two consecutive overall victories in 2024 and 2025. Last year’s result was particularly significant: the Polini Vespa Primavera ET3, competing in the Derivate category, topped the overall standings, finishing ahead of the more powerful machines in the Proto and Super Sport categories as well.
The overall podium achieved on Saturday continues a run of strong results that has seen Team Polini as a leading contender at the 500 Km di Pomposa for three consecutive editions, confirming its competitiveness, performance and reliability in one of the most demanding endurance events dedicated to the world of Vespa racing.
The race featured its traditional Le Mans-style start on Saturday at 10:30 a.m., followed by a seven-hour marathon that lasted until the chequered flag at 17:30.
Representing Polini in the Supersport category were Filippo Benini, Nazareno Lumina and Jack The Rizzer, who delivered a solid and consistent performance. The three riders took turns at the controls, maintaining a competitive pace and securing second place on the category podium.
The result was further enhanced by third place in the overall standings, where Team Polini also competed against machines from the other categories.
The second Polini team, entered in the Proto category with the 244 cc Vespa PX, also put in a strong performance. The crew remained among the front-runners throughout the first part of the race, battling for a podium finish until the halfway point. A gearbox problem then forced the Vespa to make a lengthy stop, compromising its chances of achieving a significant result. Despite the technical issue, the team managed to rejoin the race and make it to the chequered flag.
With a category podium and an overall podium finish, Polini once again confirms its strong connection with the world of Vespa and endurance racing, which has always provided an extreme testing ground for performance, reliability and durability.
