Polini Italian Cup 2024: third stage in Ortona

«Sizzling» weekend for the Polini Italian Cup, which got into action on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th June on the Abruzzo International Circuit for the third round of this 2024 season. The Polini South Cup was also on track, and after the first round in Latina, in Ortona (PE) it ran the second challenge on the calendar.
A real party, enriched by the presence of YouTubers Siw93 and the super Ila Neutro in connection from the pit lane. The weekend was characterized by high temperatures that did not make the work easy for pilots and teams, looking for the best solutions to face the very hot 1.600 meters of the Abruzzo track. In Race 2 D’Agostino started well again and managed to keep poleman Candelori behind him. There was a brawl between the two, but D’Agostino was betrayed by a slip and from that moment Candelori carried out a one man show that leaded him to victory without errors and with a wide margin. Behind him the positions remained unchanged throughout the race with Davì second and Querengo third. In the 70 South Amateurs the victories were shared between Presta and Modesti. In Race 1 Del Plato finished second and Modesti third, while in Race 2 Mileti was second and Notarangelo third.

Race 1 was conditioned by slips with Lanzilao who, starting from the front, immediately lost the rear and found himself involved in a tough comeback from tenth position. Exciting race with Iannini busy defending the small advantage he had collected over the Slovenians, with the Mihael brothers eventually finishing second and third, while Koren crossed the finish line fourth.

In Race 2 Koren took the lead followed by Martin Mihael, Ciotola and Lanzilao. Unfortunately another mistake saw Ciotola out of the running. The checkered flag declared Koren the winner ahead of Mihael Martin and Iannini.
The 70 South Evolution saw Iannini’s dominance in both heats. He scored a beautiful double ahead of Curino and Carbonara, both twice in second and third position.
