HOT RACE
The third round of National Scooter Polini Italian Cup offered a big show on the incredible Adria Karting Raceway. The modern wonderful track of Rovigo, 1302 meters long, is marked by a sequence of quite fast technical turns and a long straight line of start and arrival. These aspects exalted all the participants in the six classes always pushing hard, their knees skimming the asphalt on the turns, and confirmed once more the excellence of this championship, organized by Moto Club Bergamo, through the sponsorship of FMI. With a flock of more than eighty riders at start, well balanced and arranged, among which there were Italians and internationals, the weekend offered a day full of challenges, sudden changes, and most of all, much sport.

SCOOTER 70 EVOLUTION OPEN:
DOUBLE WIN OF CASTELLINI
In Race 1, Castelli gets off to a flying start, chased by Birtele, the Swiss Bessard and Penzo, who falls and is bound to a come back. The rider of Polini team takes advantage of it, distances and leaves Birtele and Bessard behind. Penzo recovers ground and comes to fight for podium again, but has to settle for the second position, behind Castellini.
In Race 2, lightning quick start of Penzo, who overruns Castellini, too. Third is Bessard, trying to keep the pace with the two leading riders. Castellini attacks and Penzo makes another mistake: slides and gets out of race. During the race, some penalties are given for false start: Castellini is first again, before Parodi and the Slovene Marko Mihael. Podium of the day: Castellini, Parodi, Mihael.
In Race 2, Caddeo is the quickest, chased by Nardo and Leporati. The pace is tough, but positions don’t change till the chequered flag. Podium of the day: Caddeo, Nardo, Leporati.

SCOOTER 70 FANS:
SUPER MAZZINI
In Race 1, Filippo Mazzini sprints and leads the race, and behind Matteo Sauro who tries to attack. To follow, Marola, Rossi and Moglia offer a show. Mazzini gains some seconds over the group of chasers, despite the attacks of the quick Daniele Rossi, who is trying till the end to get the decisive overtaking. In the final rush, Mazzini, Rossi and Moglia, more distant.
In Race 2, Mazzini is still the quickest at start, followed again by Sauro and Rossi. During the second lap, Sauro can come to lead the race, but Mazzini and Rossi reply, ready to do battle. In fact, Rossi overtakes Sauro on final sprint and gets the second position, as Mazzini is the winner. Podium of the day: Mazzini, Rossi, Sauro.

SCOOTER 100 BIG EVOLUTION OPEN:
STARNONE DISTANCES
In Race 1, Corsi has a good start, followed by Blando, as Starnone has not the right jolt. An instant duel between Corsi and Blando, who manages to come to lead the race, as Corsi is bound to slow down and end on tenth position. Tiraferri, Morelli and Starnone, after a slow-motion-like start, manage to get to the leading group. Blando deservedly wins the race, Starnone surprises Tiraferri and pinches the second position from him.
In Race 2, Starnone surprises all, Corsi follows. Zani and Morelli are penalized by the advanced start, as Bartolini and Tiraferri give a big show by continually exchanging the third position. Starnone runs like a rocket and lonely wins the race, precedes Corsi, who wisely prefers not to risk and settle for the second position, before Tiraferri and Bartolini. Podium of the day: Starnone, Blando, Tiraferri.

SCOOTER 70 FANS SUPER SPORT:
FINAL SPRINT OF CIONNA
Great start by Cionna in Race 1 and closes the door to Mantovani, as Raineri is third after the promotion to Supersport. Cionna and Raineri start to have a duel and give emotions: the first rider distances and the second keeps the contact, followed by Mantovani and Destro. On the last lap, Raineri gets the better of Cionna and Destro on final rush.
In Race 2, Cionna is again very quick at start, chased by Destro and Raineri, who assails Destro and passes to second position. Cionna pushes hard and distances Raineri till the chequered flag, and precedes Raineri and Destro. Podium of the day: Cionna, Raineri, Destro.

BENINI THE MATADOR
In Race 1, Benini has a good start, followed by Fuschini and Birtele. A highlight: Fuschini, who is in the race as wild card on the saddle of a prototype of Lambretta, doesn’t get any scores in the parade of this class. Benini tries to escape, while behind him, the chasers give birth to an interesting contest, full of overtakings. But Birtele exceeds and slips, paves the way for Benini and Fuschini, who can make an assault at mid-race and goes to lead it. Fuschini wins before Benini, Birtele is third despite the fall.
In Race 2, Benini is newly the fastest one, chased by Britele and Fuschini. Birtele is unchained: manages to go and lead the race by passing Benini who replies by going again to first position. On the last lap, Benini and Birtele have a bump on a brake and Fuschini takes advantage and surprisingly goes to win, before Benini and Birtele. Podium of the day: Benini, Birtele, Mammi.
